Banded agate earrings: a unique design with a unique gemstone. Featuring a blue-grey banded agate with a landscape pattern. Each stone is a painting, and yet all two of them maintain the same kind of a dune landscape.
When I saw these gorgeous agate gemstones, I immediately thought of the Dutch dunes: a brown band of sand, a blue band of the sea, surrounded by endless gray skies. What was missing was the dune grass. I combined the stones with the art-nouveau leaves and flowers (yes, the dune grass has flowers too).
The stones in this banded agate earrings are Botswana agates of top quality. They have been not, like many agates from Brazil artificially “enhanced” with dyes, You can see it because of contrasting layers. When dyeing agates all layers receive one same color in different intensity (see the picture in the link).
The ring of the set has been already sold… now the earrings are waiting to make someone beautiful.

Agate is a variety of Chalcedony, which is a variety of microcrystalline fibrous Quartz. Blue Banded Agate is distinguished by light blue, grey, brown and white bands.
No gemstone is more creatively striped by Nature than agate. Chalcedony quartz that forms in concentric layers in a wide variety of colors and textures. Each individual agate forms by filling a cavity in host rock. As a result, agate is often found as a round nodule, with concentric bands like the rings of a tree trunk. The bands sometimes look like eyes, fanciful scallops, or even a landscape with trees.
Botswana Agate is a variety of banded Chalcedony, a mineral of the Quartz family. It is predominantly banded in shades of pink and gray, though some layers may contain a muted brown or apricot. Agate has a lower intensity and vibrates to a slower frequency than other stones, but is highly regarded as a stabilizing and strengthening influence.
Botswana Agate wraps its layers of gentle pinks, brown and grays around the soul like soft, warm flannel. It is comforting and protective, soothing to those who are lonely, easily hurt or grieve a loss. Its quiet energy is particularly centering in meditation, and as a fortification Agate, it supports love and the strength to look for solutions rather than dwelling on difficulties.
Agate was highly valued as a talisman or amulet in ancient times. In modern times this stone is related to the Zodiac signs of Gemini, Virgo, but also Taurus and Cancer. It’s really a banded earthly beauty, you can meditate hours on the bands.
