Emerald charm necklace, genuine 3×6 mm marquise shaped emerald set in 925 silver pendant, embellished with a golden tulip made of 14 k gold.
This charming emerald charm necklace has been made literally from scrap: sterling silver cuttings melted together in a whimsical shape. Decorated with a tiny 14 k golden tulip fused from golden scrap. I have just been playing with the design.
After melting and soldering the shape, a 6×3 mm marquise emerald has been set. The gemstone is small, yet it has a nice transparent (!) quality and bright green hue. The genuine emerald originates from Zambia.
The other stone is a tiny 2 mm CZ (cubic zirconia).
You can buy this necklace with or without the chain (+10 euro). The chain is 49 cm/ 19.3 inches long and 1,2 mm thick
Pendant size: 0.8 inch/20×20 mm.
Emerald is a May birthstone. In combination with the tulip, the flower of the month May, this subtle charm necklace would make a perfect May birthday gift.

Emeralds are fascinating gemstones. The name emerald comes from the Greek ‘smaragdos’ via the Old French ‘esmeralde’, and really just means ‘green gemstone’. In top quality, fine emeralds are even more valuable than diamonds. However, this is a misconception that all emeralds are expensive. Lower quality emeralds are quite affordable, so June people can always receive an affordable gemstone as a gift. The best emeralds come from Colombia. Fine emeralds are also found in other countries, such as Zambia, Brazil, Zimbabwe, Madagascar, Pakistan, India, Afghanistan and Russia.
The green of the emerald is the colour of life, beauty and of constant love.
Emerald is so beneficial that naming its positive qualities would take many pages. However, one quality deserves a special mention: the stone is healing for the eyes and can improve eyesight.
