Silver flower holly leaf pendant sculpted from 999-silver.
This classy holly leaf pendant is hand-shaped from precious metal clay using the antique wood carving as a model. I made a silicone mold first using a silicone mold putty. After that the silver clay was pushed into the mold, creating in this manner a positive print, an exact copy of the original wood flower. Small CZ stones have been inserted in the heart of the flower.
The end product of precious metal clay is fine silver, the silver of highest metal content (999).
The pendant size is appr. 0,8 x 1,5 inch/ 2 x 4,5 cm. In spite of its impressive size it is light to wear. Fine silver feels extra light and warm owing to its porosity. It is not strong enough for rings or mechanically loaded fittings like clasps, but it is perfect for pendants and earrings.
An additional advantage of fine silver is that it is copper- and nickel-free, thus allergy free.
In this holly leaf pendant a sterling silver bail is used, but it can be replaced with a fine silver bail if you are allergic to sterling silver.
