The Raw emerald cross pendant has been shaped as a texturized medallion (2 cm) in precious metal clay. After firing four rough emeralds have been set. The four stones vary in size from 3×3 mm to 3×8 mm. They are all part of emerald crystal with the typical crystalline shape. I just cut them a bit to fit into the pendant. They are semi-transparent and vary in color, from dark green to pale green-blue. This is what raw emeralds are in nature, absolutely pure and untreated. The green colored emeralds belong to the beryl gemstone family. Emerald and aquamarine are varieties of beryl.
The emerald is the birthstone for May, June and July. But this stone can be worn all year round. It makes a symbolic match with fine silver. Some jeweller-astrologers think that emerald should be set in silver only. This is why it also fits in pmc jewelry, which produces silver of the highest grade: 999
The raw emerald cross pendant size is about 2×2 cm (0.8×0.8 inch). It has a rounded shape and a harmonious look. The overall layout of the emerald crystals reminds of a cross.
To make the stone number uneven a 6 mm cubic zirconium has been inserted in the middle.
A flat bail will be added to accommodate chains up to 2.5 mm. It is rather flat so that a clasp can pass by.
The chain is not included. Can be delivered as extra.

Emeralds are fascinating gemstones. The name emerald comes from the Greek ‘smaragdos’ via the Old French ‘esmeralde’, and really just means ‘green gemstone’. In top quality, fine emeralds are even more valuable than diamonds. However it is a misconception that all emeralds are expensive. Lower quality emeralds are quite affordable, so June people can always receive an affordable gemstone as a gift. The best emeralds come from Colombia. Fine emeralds are also found in other countries, such as Zambia, Brazil, Zimbabwe, Madagascar, Pakistan, India, Afghanistan and Russia.
The green of the emerald is the color of life, beauty and of constant love.
Emerald is so beneficial that naming its positive qualities would take many pages. However, one quality deserves a special mention: the stone is healing for the eyes and can improve eyesight.
