Sapphire pink corundum crystal necklace, pear-shaped sterling silver wire wrapped beaded pendant, on a matching purple leather chain custom length. Pendant size: 20×12 mm.
Design and materials
This pink sapphire corundum crystal necklace features a pear-shaped pink sapphire. I have slightly cut and polished the stone. The stone has been wire-wrapped in sterling silver wire and decorated with a frame of miyuki beads in white and purple. The pear-shaped stone is appr. 20×10 mm large.
This sapphire pink corundum crystal is 100% natural, unenhanced in color. Though it is an inexpensive stone variety, you will get the real thing here. A tough, hard, dense Ruby/ Sapphire.
If you put it in ultraviolet light it will show pink fluorescence. This is the way to test the genuine sapphire/ruby/corundum.
The pendant will be delivered on a 2 mm purple leather chain (purple metallic). The length is custom: from 45 to 60 cm. A silver-colored lobster clasp finishes the chain.

Corundum is best known for its gem varieties, Ruby and Sapphire. Ruby and Sapphire are scientifically the same mineral, but just differ in color. Ruby is the red variety, and Sapphire is the variety that encompasses all other colors, although the most popular and valued color of Sapphire is blue. Sapphire is also only used to describe the gem variety; otherwise it is simply called Corundum.
Corundum is a very hard, tough, and stable mineral. It is the second hardest mineral after Diamond. It is also unaffected by acids and most environments. Translucent brown Corundum and Emery are the most common forms of Corundum. Due to their great hardness and prevalence, these are the most favorable abrasives.
Corundum is easily synthesized, and many Corundum abrasives are synthetic. Natural Ruby and Sapphire gemstones may have their color artificially enhanced or deepened through heat treatment.
Noteworthy deposits of corundum occur in Myanmar, Thailand, Madagascar, Sri Lanka, and India. This particular stone originates from Madagascar.
Tough as it is physically, it is a stone for the tough ones metaphysically. Corundum promotes insight into the unknown, focus, wisdom and wise choices. It is also believed to subdue emotional tumult by relieving tension, releasing anger in a positive manner and reducing the presence of negative thoughts. It is also believed to enhance intuition.
Corundum crystal resonates with late December – January birthdays.
