Vorobyevite (sometimes called Rosterite) is a rare variety of Beryl
These unusual Beryl crystals have a flat, tabular crystal habit and distinct color-zoning and were originally thought to contain traces of Cesium, although subsequent research has proved that they are in fact a rare alkali-rich variety of Beryl. The blue color of the gems from this source is unique, with finds of similar material in Madagascar usually being pink in color.
